Fishtailing On The Highway

I fishtailed on the highway and had my passenger side smoked by an oncoming vehicle. My car rolled over and I was knocked out at some point because I remember waking up freezing cold and unable to move. I was pinned to my seat, hunched over because of the damn roof caving in. My windows were busted out and snow was blowing into my face. It is a really helpless feeling being trapped like that, and the fact that it was night time on a lightly used highway is panic inducing.

I thought the people in the other card were dead because no one was coming for me. I was cold, bleeding, and in pain. I just cried myself to sleep.

Next thing I know I’m waking up in ICU to my very surprised family (like crying kind of surprise).

I had slipped into a hypothermic coma while in my car, and by the time I reached the hospital I had already legally died. They brought my body temperature back up and they were able to revive me, however I remained in a coma.

No one thought I would come out of it and even if I did, they were certain there would be drain bamage.

So when I woke up asking them to turn down the heat they nearly hit the roof.

Oh and the folks in the other car were okay. They had slid into a snow bank on the opposite side of the road. They couldn’t open their doors, so they lit candles to keep warm and wait for someone to come. They, too, believed me to be dead. We were found by my friend (whose house I was driving to). Lucky to be alive is an understatement.
